Mary Bamford RD, M.B.A., B.Sc. (honors)

Mary was born and raised in Niagara Wine Country and Tender Fruit Farming Belt.  She went to London to earn her Bachelor of Science (honors) Degree in Clinical Nutrition (1988) at the University of Western Ontario.  Her next academic move brought her further west to Edmonton to complete her Dietetic Internship at the University of Alberta Hospitals (1989).  While working full time, Mary completed a graduate degree in Marketing from McMaster University (MBA 2002).

Mary is a regulated health professional as a member of the College of Dietitians of Ontario and Dietitians of Canada.

Prior to founding Essence Nutrition Counselling, Mary worked in both hospitals and in business.  Her career began with several clinical nutrition positions at McMaster University Medical Center including The Children’s Exercise and Nutrition Center, Cardiac Intensive Care Unit and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.  She next moved into progressive sales and marketing positions in the pharmaceutical and manufacturing industries.

In 2005, Mary returned to her passion in food, eating, health and helping people make positive changes in their lives.  She opened her private consulting business and started working with individual and corporate clients in both Niagara and Toronto, with offices at White Oaks Resort and Conference Centre in Niagara-on-the-Lake and Adelaide Health Clinic in downtown Toronto.

In 2010, Mary moved her practice completely to Toronto.  A new midtown location in addition to Adelaide Clinic will be announced later in September.

Mary has a proven track record of helping clients get the results they are looking for.
